This scholarship was established for the benefit of high school graduates from East Hawai’i (Honoka’a to Ka‘u). Dr. Gerrit Ludwig was an ophthalmologist in Hilo with a love for fine arts and classics. He set up this fund to support students studying in these fields. Preference is given to students pursuing a degree in Fine Arts and Classics.
